2014 = The Year of Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart

2014 will definitely be a good year for the the Seriously Funny actor/comedian. From the looks of it, he may even be taking it over! Born and raised in Philly, Hart starred in numerous films as a supporting role since 2002. His talent and sharp wit proved that he couldn’t be contained in the smaller roles he was given.

While watching the previews before the showing of tear-jerker Best Man’s Holiday, Kevin Hart starred in 3 of them, as a lead actor! I was so happy to see him finally be appreciated in Hollywood.

One of the movies I can fully endorse is Ride Along. Ice Cube and the film’s producer, Will Packer came to the University of Georgia for a special screening and it was phenomenal. Kevin’s character, Ben, is a dedicated security guard who dreams of becoming a cop for the LAPD. His Brother-In-Law James (Ice Cube) just happens to be a cop. James invites Ben to shadow him for a day so Ben can show that he is worthy of being a cop and also marrying his sister. I can’t go into too much detail, but Kevin Hart was such a delight to watch. The chemistry between the title characters were on point and many scenes that worked well was purely thanks to Hart’s improvisational skills. The film is set to release next month on January 17, 2014. A perfect great start for The Year of Kevin Hart.

Watch out for Grudge Match this Christmas Day (originally scheduled for a January release date) starring Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone (Ha Cha Cha!!), About Last Night (based on the stage play Sexual Perversity in Chicago by David Mamet) on Valentine’s Day, annnnndddd last but not least Think Like A Man Too coming out June 20, 2014.

Now let’s not hope he becomes overexposed triggering to be ‘played out’. You remember Raven Symoné in the Disney Channel Days?

But I don’t think so. Embrace all your opportunities Kevin, you got IT !
